Tasting Note

The Riserva 2019 is intense ruby in colour with aromas of dried cherry, rose, herbs and hints of earth on the nose. A great balance on the palate with silky tannins and a lingering finish.

Product Notes

Fossacolle Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is an Italian red wine renowned for its luxurious qualities. The wine's extraordinary depth, rich aromas of red fruit, spice and balanced acidity make it a memorable sip. It's aged meticulously in oak barrels for a prolonged period to offer a lush, velvety texture. The wine exhibits tannic structure which adds to its refined elegance, and its lingering finish is sure to impress true connoisseurs. Originating from the Montalcino region, Fossacolle Brunello embodies a delicate blend of Sangiovese grapes, making it an excellent choice to accompany a delightfully sophisticated dinner.

About the Winery

Fossacolle

The Fossacolle estate, in the south of Montalcino, comprises four hectares of vineyards of which 2.5 are destined for Brunello. Such is the quality of the vineyards that winemaker Adriano Bambagioni has been able to produce wines which have won numerous accolades over the years. Adriano honed his craft over 10 years working with Giacomo Tachis, the famed oenologist responsible for producing the first Super Tuscan wines. The estate has been owned by the Marchetti family, Adriano’s in-laws, since the 1700s and Adriano’s son, Stefano, now works alongside him.
