Malkoa shows great complexity, highlighting spicy and balsamic aromas, with dominant citrus notes (grapefruit) and fresh aromatic herbs. With a marked Atlantic character, it offers a very long, fresh, powerful, and structured palate, with the ability to age for many years in bottle.

Astobiza Malkoa Txakolina White Wine is a splendidly elegant and refreshing tipple originating from the Basque country in Spain. It offers a diverse burst of fruity flavours, predominantly of apple and citrus, which intermingle harmoniously with subtle mineral undertones. The wine's delightful nose is reminiscent of a springtime blooming orchard, paired with tantalising hints of zesty lime. Complex yet refined, this mildly acidic wine arouses the palate with a bright, crisp finish. This txakolina is a versatile match for a wide gamut of dishes, particularly shellfish and seafood, perfect for fancy dinners or casual, laid-back evenings.

About the Winery

Astobiza

Astobiza is one of the leading modern estates of the Basque Country, producing distinctive Atlantic wines that demonstrate the serious, age-worthy potential of Txakoli. The family-owned winery is located in Okondo, Álava, around 30 kilometres from Bilbao, within the DOP Arabako Txakolina. Its vineyards sit at approximately 250 metres above sea level, surrounded by mountains that provide protection from fog and damaging winter frosts.
