Tasting Note

After some contact with the air, this wine is a perfect balance between mineral freshness and very ripe fruit. The palate is warm, mouthwatering and saline, with a spicy cinnamon finish. A complex, compact and powerful wine.

Product Notes

Domaine Louis Michel's Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre wine is an elegant French concoction. Set apart by its ethereal light-gold hue, the wine proudly introduces its fruity bouquet of green apple, pear, and lemon. These fruity fragrances give way to a balanced swirl of mineral richness on the palate, echoing the iconic flinty soil from where its grapes are nurtured. The wine is subtly nuanced with oaken undertones, creating a complex character. Subtly carved acidity adds an invigorating backbone, while a sophisticated finish demonstrates its inherent finesse and precision. An exceptional Chardonnay, it's a splendid treat for wine enthusiasts.

About the Winery

Founded in 1850, Domaine Louis Michel et Fils is one of the historic family estates of Chablis in northern Burgundy. Now led by the sixth generation, Guillaume Michel, the domaine remains entirely family owned and is renowned for producing some of the region's purest expressions of Chardonnay. The estate cultivates around 25 hectares of vineyards on the celebrated Kimmeridgian limestone soils surrounding Chablis, including holdings in prestigious Grand Cru vineyards such as Les Clos, Grenouilles and Vaudésir, as well as several highly regarded Premier Cru sites including Montée de Tonnerre, Butteaux, Forêts and Montmain.
