Product Notes

Yalumba The Virgilius Viognier is a remarkable, well-respected Australian wine. It stands as one of the most highly documented Viogniers down under, emanating from the house's oldest vineyard. This luxurious white boasts a vibrant, golden hue. Its captivating bouquet overflows with intoxicating notes of ginger flower, white peach, nectarine and custard apple. On the palate, the wine exhibits a splendid fusion of spice, citrus and stone-fruit flavours, balanced with refreshing acidity and a rich, creamy texture. Its lingering finish paves the way for excellent ageing potential. The Virgilius is a fruit-driven, sophisticated wine, illustrating Yalumba's emphatic commitment to quality.

Tasting Notes

The nose has intense aromas of early season just picked apricots, cardamom, white pepper and fresh ginger. Lifted ginger spice is layered on the palate with mineral sourdough like texture and complex apricots and almond savouriness. The trademark Viognier lusciousness of the palate is clearly evident in this wine. It is complex while at the same time showing purity and restraint that will unwind slowly in the glass and take the imbiber on a sensory journey.
