Product Notes

François Chidaine's Clos Habert wine is a delectable single vineyard offering from Montlouis-sur-Loire, France. Noted for its bright, crisp acidity balanced with a substantial body, it offers a complex mix of ripe orchard fruits, honeysuckle, and just a hint of smoke. The wine undergoes slow fermentation using indigenous yeasts, which heightens its depth and character. Cultivated respecting the principles of biodynamics, it's a luminous, opulent example of Chenin Blanc. This wine from the Loire Valley is enticingly unusual, offering a unique mineral drive and impressive longevity, making it ideal for special occasions or ageing. Discover the splendour of French whites with Clos Habert.

About the Winery

François Chidaine

Nestled on the south bank of the Loire River in Montlouis-sur-Loire, Domaine François Chidaine stands as one of the Loire Valley's most respected producers of Chenin Blanc. The estate's modern winery is located in the village of Husseau, with vineyards stretching across three appellations: around 20 hectares in Montlouis-sur-Loire, 10 hectares in Vouvray (north of the river), and 7 hectares in the broader Touraine zone for reds, rosés, and Sauvignon Blanc—totaling about 37 hectares of biodynamically farmed land.
