Tasting Note

Deep golden and slightly hazy in appearance, with a complex, characterful nose of quince, orange zest and ripe orchard fruit, layered with toasted nuts, brioche and sweet spice. The palate is intense and textured, combining citrus and stone fruit with vibrant acidity and a subtle tannic grip from extended skin contact. Fresh, rounded and savoury, with excellent concentration and a distinctive mineral edge leading to a long, deep and persistent finish.

About the Winery

Alonso & Pedrajo represents a new generation of Rioja producers, combining the region’s long tradition of extended ageing with a more adventurous, low-intervention approach to winemaking. Based in Villalba de Rioja, beneath the Montes Obarenes in the north-western corner of Rioja Alta, this small family project produces distinctive wines with a strong emphasis on vineyard origin, texture and individuality.
