Tasting Note

This wine is deep ruby red in colour. On the nose, there are intense aromas of sour cherry, raspberry, violet and plums complemented by aromatic herbs and notes of balsamic. It is full-bodied with silky tannins, a refreshing acidity and a wonderfully lingering finish.

Product Notes

Tenuta Valdipiatta Vigna d'Alfiero Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a superior Italian red, exemplifying the beauty of the Tuscan vineyards from which it originates. This luxurious wine has a tantalising flavour profile, rich with ripe cherries and blackberries, intertwined with subtle hints of vanilla and spice. In the glass, it displays an elegant, deep ruby colour. Its robust body, fine-grained tannins, and refreshing acidity make it an excellent companion for hearty meat dishes and mature cheeses. The long, smooth finish leaves a stunningly complex array of flavours on the palate. A vintage that showcases Italian winemaking at its finest.

About the Winery

Tenuta Valdipiatta

Tenuta Valdipiatta, in the heart of the Vino Nobile zone, is run by Miriam Caporali, who took over from her father, Giulio Caporali, in 2002. Giulio originally purchased the Montepulciano estate at the end of the 1980s. In 2010, Miriam brought in top Bordeaux oenologist Eric Boissenot, who also consults for Châteaux Lafite, Latour, Margaux and Palmer, to aid the winemaking process.
