Product Notes

Alheit Vineyards' Hemelrand Vine Garden wine portrays Simonsberg-Muldersvlei's sublime finesse. Handpicked Chenin Blanc, Roussanne, Chardonnay, and Verdelho grapes contribute to an intricate blend. The nose emanates enchanting fragrances of apricot and honeysuckle, mingling with a subtle, toastiness. On the palate, one experiences sun-warmed orchard fruits interlaced with distinct minerality. A distinct structure and lasting finish signify its potential for cellar ageing. The Hemelrand Vine Garden is reinventing South African wine, with its intriguing complexity and balanced elegance. A truly captivating vino.

Tasting Notes

As always this is quite an extreme wine with lots of flavour and some richness, cut by driving acidity. The nose is so complex and interesting: stone fruit and citrus with an exotic accent. The palate is also marvellously complex.

About the Winery

Alheit Vineyards

Nestled in the stunning South African Cape, Alheit Vineyards is a testament to the region's rich winemaking heritage. This boutique family-run winery epitomises natural beauty, underscored by the radiant Western Cape sunshine and the cool countryside breeze.

Founded by husband and wife duo, Chris and Suzaan Alheit, the winery was established with a clear vision: to produce wines that express the unique terroir of South Africa's old vines. This vision has been continually realised since the vineyard's inception in 2011, resulting in elegant, character-rich wines that resonate with wine connoisseurs globally.

The commitment towards sustainability at Alheit Vineyards is commendable. Averting the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides, a wholesome, organic approach to grape cultivation is insisted upon. Each vintage tell it's own story, the product of meticulous hand-harvesting and minimal intervention during the winemaking process. This focus on purity and authenticity results in wines that are not just eco-friendly, but also quintessentially expressive of their South African roots.

Among their celebrated assortments, the 'Cartology' is a standout central to Alheit's repertoire. This flagship Chennin Blanc and Semillon blend has seen immense critical acclaim, repeatedly highlighted for it's lucidity and depth of flavour.

Visitors to Alheit Vineyards can anticipate an immersive experience, exploring both wine and the natural beauty of the Cape. Wine enthusiasts can enjoy tastings and tours, while nature-lovers can take in picturesque views of the rolling vineyards, framed by rugged mountain slopes and the expansive azure sky.

In its essence, Alheit Vineyards captures the mesmerising alchemy of natural beauty and artisan winemaking.
