Tasting Note

The colour is ruby with light tints of garnet. The nose is ethereal and intense, with hints of wild berries, spices and noble wood. The palate is full, elegant, harmonic, mineral, significantly persistent and reasonably tannic. Serving temperature: 18 – 19°C

Benanti Serra Della Contessa Particella No. 587 Etna Rosso Riserva is a majestic Sicilian wine from the foothills of Mt. Etna. Skilfully crafted using Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes, this red wine tantalises with its ample, intense bouquet that highlights notes of red fruit, tobacco, and mineral. The palate is pleasantly balanced between a full body and a notable acidity. Its velvety tannins lend a certain finesse, creating an indulgent experience that ends with a lingering, harmonious finish. Its aging potential is remarkable. This unique wine perfectly embodies the volcanic exuberance of Etna’s terrain.

About the Winery

Benanti

Benanti is one of the pioneering wineries of Mount Etna and has played a defining role in the revival of Sicily's fine wine industry. Although the Benanti family's roots in Sicily date back to 1734, the modern winery was established in 1988 by Giuseppe Benanti, whose vision was to demonstrate the exceptional potential of Etna's indigenous grape varieties and volcanic terroir. Today, the family-owned estate is managed by Giuseppe's sons, Antonio and Salvino Benanti, who continue to build on their father's legacy.
