Tasting Note

This wine has an elegant nose with intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry and a subtle spiciness. The palate is concentrated and robust, with dark berry flavours that marry with a marked minerality and structured tannins. A mouthwatering acidity carries the intense flavours onto the lingering finish.

Product Notes

Domaine Chevrot Maranges Rouge 1er Cru La Fussière is a tantalising red wine hailing from Burgundy, France. This vintage is known for its deep ruby colour and invitingly fragrant aroma, alluding to forest fruits, spice and undergrowth. On the palate, expect a distinct and full-bodied balance of plum and cherry flavour profiles, underpinned by subtle oaky undertones. Tannins are smoothly integrated, leading to a harmonious, lingering finish. Crafted with precision by Domaine Chevrot, the wine invokes the terroir's unique characteristics. Suited for ageing, this red enhances savoury meals like roast lamb or earthy mushroom dishes. Sought-after by enthusiasts, it offers a rewarding wine experience.

About the Winery

Domaine Chevrot

Located just 10 kilometres south of Puligny- and Chassagne-Montrachet, Maranges is increasingly recognised for its quality and value. Domaine Chevrot, recommended early on by Jane Eyre, is based in the heart of the appellation and run by brothers Pablo and Vincent Chevrot, who took over from their parents in 2007 after gaining experience in Bordeaux and Central Otago. Certified organic, the 19-hectare estate is farmed according to regenerative principles, with horse-drawn ploughing and the use of larger-format oak helping to refine the style. These efforts have established Domaine Chevrot as one of Maranges’ leading producers, earning two stars in La Revue du Vin de France’s 2024 guide.
