Tasting Note

It tastes like a Châteauneuf du Pape with its juicy black raspberry, violets, peppery herbs and distinct minerality. This comparison is certainly still valid on the palate, as well and its medium to full-bodied, concentrated and structured, with a sappy, grippy style that will evolve nicely for 7-8 years or more. Domaine la Barroche Liberty wine is a sophisticated testament of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region in the south of France. This seductive wine presents an intense ruby colour with a rich, full-bodied palate. Its quirky mix of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre reveals nuances of strawberry, blackcurrant and spicy undertones. The beautifully balanced tannins unfold into a lingering aftertaste of cherries, enhancing its complexity. The cultivation emphasises organic farming, resulting in an elegant expression of the vintage. The Barroche Liberty wine is a divine marriage of tradition and creativity, perfect for both a fancy soirée or a cosy night in.

About the Winery

Domaine La Barroche is a historic, family-owned estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with a winemaking heritage stretching back centuries. The Barrot family acquired its first land in the village in 1703, while the family traces its connection with Grenache back even further, to the 14th century. Today, the estate is run by siblings Julien and Laetitia Barrot, who represent the latest generation to carry the family’s winemaking tradition forward. Julien joined the domaine in 2002 after studying oenology and business, bringing a modern, meticulous approach to the interpretation of its vineyards.
