Thorne & Daughters Rocking Horse Cape White Blend wine is a beautifully crafted South African blend. This elegant wine embodies a delicate balance of flavours with dominant undertones of white peach, apricot, and a touch of honey, effortlessly merging with floral nuances. An intense layer of minerality contributes to its unique character. Its well-rounded, full-bodied texture, paired with aromatic complexities and a refreshing acidity, results in a sophisticated, crisp finish. This delightfully smooth wine symbolises the perfect harmony of excitement and tranquillity, creating an enchanting experience for white wine enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes

The wine is composed from a number of carefully selected vineyard sites in the Western Cape. The aromas are of yellow plum, kumquat, lemon thyme, soft brioche and crushed oyster shell. In the mouth, the wine starts broad and rich, resolving into a keen line of acidity supported by a gentle tannin.

However, their catalogue has since announced the birth of a selection of equally charismatic and noteworthy reds.

The scenic Thorne & Daughters vineyard perpetuates the mission for an authentic, pure experience: the reduction of mechanical interventions, the embrace of the natural yeast process, and conscientious grape and barrel selection. These principal a commitment to preserving the integrity and character of each vine and ultimately, every precious drop.

For John and Tasha, their connection with the land doesn't merely serve an agenda for the production of top-tier wines - it is home. This is reflected in their humble, unassuming headquarters: an old cellar in Stellenbosch. Verdant and serene, this area is not only exquisite, but it provides the ideal condition, for cultivating the variety of grapes that bring Thorne & Daughters’ wonderful selection of wines to life.
