Tasting Note

This Crémant has a pale yellow colour with golden highlights, enlivened by a fine, persistent effervescence. The complex, expressive nose reveals aromas of white flowers, white-fleshed fruits such as apple and pear, and subtle notes of brioche and almond. On the palate, the attack is lively and fresh, offering a beautiful harmony between controlled acidity and a creamy texture. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a delicately fruity, lightly toasted imprint.

Product Notes

Veuve Ambal Crémant de Bourgogne Grande Cuvée Brut is a highly-regarded sparkling wine from Burgundy, France. This elegant wine enchants with a lively palate and consistent bubbles, offering delicious apple and hawthorn blossom notes. It has a wonderful complexity due to its balance of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Aligote grapes. Aged for at least 12 months in their cellars, this results in a wine with finesse and a beautiful, long-lasting finish. With its refined texture and fresh crispness, it perfectly complements oysters and other seafood. This wine truly embodies the traditional French winemaking excellence.

About the Winery

The association of widows or ‘veuves’ and sparkling wine extends beyond Champagne, south into Burgundy where Veuve Ambal, the leading producer of Crémant de Bourgogne, is located. Its story began in 1898, when Marie Ambal, following the death of her Parisian banker husband, returned to her home village of Rully in Côte Chalonnaise to pursue her family’s involvement in wine.
