Tasting Note
English-grown Bacchus grapes produce aromatic, fresh and crisp wines similar in style to Sauvignon Blanc but with their own distinctive aroma profile. As is typical of the varietal, our Bacchus is pale, with a crisp light mouth feel and recognisable aromatic complexity. The diversity of aromas can range from herbaceous (tomato leaf, basil, sage, nettle, asparagus, grassy) to citrus (lime zest, lemon, grapefruit) to tropical fruit (medlar, mango, passionfruit) to floral (elderflower, honeysuckle) with the intensity ranging from punchy and intense to more subtle and elegant. Our style of Bacchus aims for intriguing aromatic complexity and subtle elegance.
